muscat airport
Muscat International Airport serves as the primary international airport in Oman, and it is located 32 km away from the old city and the capital, Muscat, within the Muscat metropolitan area. The airport serves as the central hub for Oman Air, the national flag carrier, and Salam Air, the country's first budget airline. It offers a range of flights to various regional destinations and intercontinental services to Asia, Africa, and Europe.
Covering an extensive area of 5,250 acres (21 km2), the entire airport complex initially included one passenger terminal building, one runway, along with minor cargo and maintenance facilities. As part of the airport's expansion, additional housing was provided for both airport employees and Oman Air staff.
